Our Story
The Brass Compass Cafe was founded in 2011 by two lifelong Edmond residents who saw a gap in the local market: too many homeowners were stuck choosing between big out-of-town contractors with little accountability, or handyman-style repairs that didn’t last. What started as a two-man operation working out of a pickup truck has grown into one of Edmond’s most trusted fence repair and installation crews, known for showing up on time, doing the job right the first time, and standing behind every repair.
The name “Brass Compass” reflects our approach to the work: steady, reliable, and always pointing our customers toward the most honest solution — even if that means telling them a full replacement isn’t necessary and a repair will do just fine.
Meet the Owners
The Brass Compass Cafe is owned and operated by Randy Sutter and Blake Whitcomb, two Edmond natives who started working together in high school doing odd jobs around the neighborhood and never really stopped.
Randy, who has over 20 years of hands-on construction experience, oversees all field operations and quality control, making sure every fence panel, post, and gate meets his exacting standards. Blake manages client relations and estimates, known around town for his straight-talk approach and refusal to upsell customers on work they don’t need.
Together, Randy and Blake have built The Brass Compass Cafe into a name Edmond homeowners trust — not through flashy advertising, but through word of mouth and repeat business from satisfied customers.
